Learn The Guitar Online If You Are Over 40
Thursday, February 24, 2011 | By AnonymousIs it possible to learn the guitar online if I'm over 40? The answer is YES. Is it more difficult for me? Not necessarily. A lot of people have the wrong idea that to learn the guitar online you need to be some kid that has a lot of time or some unemployed guy living out of some trust found or something like that.
Sure, if you have a lot of time available it is easier. But the truth is when you really want something, you can get it, but of course, you already know that. As a matter of fact, I read on a book written by Napoleon Hill that the really productive years for men and women are between 40 and 60 years old.
This is great news for anyone who wants to pick up an instrument and start playing at the age of 40 or more. First thing you need to have is motivation. When you enjoy what you do it usually comes by itself. You do not need to put any extra effort, because you have a lot of fun, and learning to play guitar is very fun.
Now, you have probably heard that the older you get, the harder it is to learn something new; and that is actually true sometimes like trying to learn a new language or to study a new career at the university. Learning to play an instrument it can be a little bit harder if you are 40 than if you are 15, of course, but that does not mean that it is impossible at all. The truth is that you will need to focus a tiny bit more than if you were a teenager.
This is when Guitar Courses Online comes in handy, you do not need to go from one place to another, and you do not have to pay large sums of money to a private tutor. All you need is an Internet Connection and about one hour a day to practice. The practice is extremely important; it is what makes the difference between those who only know how to play one song from the ones to write the songs.
My recommendation as someone who has been playing guitar for almost 13 years now is to take classes, take the advice of the experts, and always have thirst for knowledge. A lot of people learn a song or two and stop learning, but let me tell you this, playing the guitar gives you a better perspective of music. Your senses are more educated to see and hear things that other people can't.
So, if you think that life becomes a routine after the age of forty, think again. It is the perfect time to start learning new things, meeting new people and more important than that, discover what you are capable of doing with a little bit of determination and a little bit of practice. If you do not have a guitar yet, what are you waiting for?
